Employment Nova Scotia Programs

As a job seeker, employment programs and services are available to help get you started on the right path towards sustainable employment. We are your first step to accessing the Employment Benefits and Support Measures that are available through Employment Nova Scotia including...

An employment program that supports projects that provide eligible individuals with work experience leading to enhanced employment- related skills.
An employment program that provides financial assistance to eligible individuals to help them create jobs for themselves by starting a business.
Skills Development provides funding to eligible individuals who require skills training to secure employment. With the financial assistance provided by Skills Development, individuals arrange and pay for their own training.

Seasonal Feepayer is a program which allows laid off workers to invest in their own training if they choose and continue to draw out their regular Employment Insurance benefits while in training. Since these workers will not receive additional financial support for their training-related costs, they are referred to as "feepayers."

An employment program that encourages employers to hire eligible individuals by providing them with a wage subsidy.

If you are struggling to find employment and feel that you could benefit from these programs, contact the Career Resource Centre to find out what your next step will be.
